Local Entrepreneurs SA

Why this site exists

Most of the information a small business owner in South Africa needs already exists somewhere — spread across government departments, provincial agencies, banks and non-profit programmes. The problem is rarely that the information doesn't exist; it's that it's hard to find, written for specialists, or scattered across many different websites.

Local Entrepreneurs SA brings that information together in plain language and organises it around the questions people actually ask: what do I need to register, what kind of support might I qualify for, and how do I take the first steps online without overspending on tools I don't need yet.

What this site is not

This is not a government service, a bank, a franchise, or a paid consultancy. We don't process registrations, disburse funding, or charge for access to any guide on this site. Where a decision needs an official body — CIPC, SARS, a municipality, a specific funder — we say so plainly and point toward that body rather than acting as a substitute for it.

How content is chosen and kept current

Guides are written in plain language first, then checked against publicly available official sources. Where rules or programmes change, we aim to update the relevant page rather than leave outdated detail live. If you spot something that looks out of date, the contact page is the fastest way to flag it.
